»... In Ergänzung zum Galerieprogramm startet die Villa Grisebach Gallery eine neue Ausstellungsreihe unter dem Titel Projects. In unregelmäßigen Abständen lädt die Galerie Künstler ein, Projekte zu aktuellen Fragen der zeitgenössischen Kunst zu entwickeln. Den Auftakt macht Adib Fricke ... my private corpus arbeitet mit Textfragmenten, die Fricke aus Interviews in Kunstzeitschriften extrahiert hat. Das Projekt vertauscht die übliche Abfolge einer Galerie-Ausstellung. My private corpus begann mit zwei Anzeigen in den aktuellen Ausgaben der Zeitschriften FlashArt (#247) und Frieze (#98), für die Fricke jeweils einen Satz ausgewählt hat. Weitere Textfragmente werden auf der Projektwebseite grisebach-gallery.de/projects/ als zufälliger Ausschnitt sichtbar. In den Galerieräumen findet schließlich eine Installation von Textstücken statt, die fragmentarisch der visuellen Logik von Kunstzeitschriften folgt und das Verhältnis von Diskursinhalten und -formen befragt ...«

»...Villa Grisebach Gallery will start Projects, a new exhibition series. At intermittent intervals the gallery will invite artists to develop projects made specifically to negotiate relevant issues in contemporary art. The first in this series is Adib Fricke...my private corpus is a compilation of text fragments that Fricke extracted from interviews published in art magazines. This project inverts the usual chronology of a gallery exhibition, however, by displaying the extracts in random order. My private corpus began with two advertisements in the current issues of FlashArt (#247) and Frieze (#98). Fricke has selected one sentence for each magazine, while other, arbitrary texts appear on the project’s website grisebach-gallery.de/projects/. Eventually an installation of text pieces that explore the visual logic of art magazines and the relationship between their contents and forms of discourse will be displayed in the gallery space...«
